New In Skincare

I’m not exactly sure when the last time I wrote about skin care was, but that could be because I haven’t really purchased anything new in a while. When something works for me, there really is no need to try a bunch of different products if I don’t have to. I’m also on this journey to saving more money – one of these days I’ll tell you all how that goes. My goal is to save a little over $500 in the next six months, if not more. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to try a couple of new products last month and so far I really do like them and I think they’ll be a good addition to my spring/summer routine.

Just a disclaimer…I have fallen in love with mists. This winter was incredibly dry and spray mists have been a lifesaver. One of the things that my skin was missing probably the whole time I dealt with acne was hydration. I believe I have talked about this in a prior blog post My Extra AF Winter Skincare Routine. Needless to say, this post may or may not be about spray mists.

IMG_4778Okay, so it’s not just about spray mists…that would have been boring. In November, I purchased a Herbivore Botanicals trio oil kit. It came with the Phoenix Oil, Lapis Oil, and Orchid Oil. If you’ve been here for a while then you know how much I adored the Lapis Oil when it first became popular. Well, this kit was $30 for all three of these oils and honestly, that’s a steal! I ended up falling pretty hard for the Phoenix and Orchid Oil. They both were extremely hydrating and I didn’t need a whole lot at all. It’s also a really good alternative to my fave – Sunday Riley Juno Oil

IMG_4779Okay so is it just me, or is Glow Recipe just a whole mood? The watermelon and the blueberry scents are just amazing AND they’re green! I got my hands on the Glow Recipe Ultra Fine Mist. I honestly did not expect much out of this but it honestly does make your skin glow and it sets your makeup pretty perfectly. One of the ingredients is apple cider vinegar and apparently, that helps with oil breaking through. I’m here for it!

So this post was mostly about mists but they really do come in handy. This Vichy Thermal Water was purchased in Palm Springs and it was pretty hot compared to where I live. This thermal water doubles as an instant cool down and a boost of hydration. California, in general, is a pretty dry climate as well and I was not about to let my skin dry out. I will say this purchase is kind of frivolous, but it really does come in handy AND they offer mini versions in different brands.

That’s my new in skincare! I feel like I haven’t done something like this in a while. As always, I hope this was informative or at least fun to read. Leave a comment and tell me what’s new in your skincare arsenal.
