The Glow-Up Series: How to Get INSTANT Dewy Skin

After my last post about getting dewy and glowy skin, it felt like I just left you all with all of these products that you CAN use within your routine. It felt unfinished, so I decided to close out the first part of the Glow-Up Series with this post – still speaking on achieving dewy skin but also how to get it instantly! We’re in this journey together and I couldn’t leave you all hangin’ without showing some kind of results.

Probably one of the fastest ways to get dewy skin is by using a hydrating sheet mask. The results don’t exactly last days and days, but you’ll at least see them for the rest of the day or night. I won’t bore you with all the different brands and types of sheet masks there are because I think you all know at this point. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, trust me they’ll potentially change your life…or at least your skin.

My choice of sheet mask brand wise is Dr. Jart because they have so many options for different skin concerns and I can actually understand the ingredient list. Of course, you can buy whatever brand you want even the Sephora Collection which also has some good options. A mask that I would love to get my hands on is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask. Anyway, today I used the Dr. Jart Vital Hydra Solution – a deep hydration mask that contains hyaluronic acid and algae extract to provide long-lasting moisturization.

My first step is to double cleanse my face. I use Clinique Take the Day Off and follow-up with Bosica Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick just to have a nice clear and clean canvas. I apply the sheet mask and I like to wait until it’s basically dry before removing it which can take up to 20-30 minutes. I mean I might as well get ALL of the product if I can.

Then I get out my handy dandy Jade roller from Skin Gym and roll the sheet mask to sit flat on my face as much as it can. If you don’t have a Jade or rose quartz roller then just smooth the mask out with your fingers. Not only is this situating the mask, but it’s also massaging the product into your skin rather than laying right on top.

After 20-30 minutes or until the sheet has dried up, I remove it and begin using my Jade roller to massage the rest of the product into my skin. I do this for about 5-7 minutes. Again, if you don’t have a roller then just use your fingers. Don’t forget to bring the leftover product down to your neck! Eventually, the leftover will dry up and you should notice that your skin feels pretty damn good…might even have a little bounce to it.

I like to finish the rest of my skincare routine, making sure not to use any heavy creams – just mists/essence and oils. While your skin as well as mine won’t be like the ever coveted glass skin, you should have hydrated, moisturized skin that is quite dewy. You’ll definitely notice a sheen on your natural highlight points. If you put on makeup after this treatment, you’ll see a big difference in how your foundation and highlighter goes on. In fact, you probably won’t need nearly as much makeup as you normally would. Masking like this twice a week along with your skincare routine will have your skin lookin’ really dewy for the summer. Who would even need makeup?

Before I sign off, I want to share a checklist with you all! Suprise! There can be a lot of steps to achieving great skin so I thought it would be cool to make a little printable for you guys.  It’s nothing too special, literally just a checklist you can download and print out if you want. Enjoy and thanks for reading!
