24 Things I Learned in 24 Years

This time next month, I will be turning 25! I am beyond excited to be getting older if I’m being completely honest. Normally, people my age start to freak out that their getting older and haven’t accomplished things in life. For some reason, getting older doesn’t really bother me…in fact, I embrace it! Part of that could be because I could pass for a high school student on most days, but that doesn’t really change that I am actually getting older.

So, because I will be extremely busy next month as well as on vacation, I’ll be posting this now. Also, I have no blog post ideas at the moment. I seriously need to sit down and plan my days and weeks out better. Anyway, keep reading if you want to know the 24 things that I learned in 24 years…mainly that I learned this year. So maybe 24 things I learned at 24 is a better title. Some of these are self-explanatory, but some I will probably go into more detail.

1. Laugh at yourself..A LOT

2. Take care of yourself before others.

3. Buy that item, you’ll get paid again.

If you really want something and can’t get it out of your head, then you should buy it.

4. Don’t buy that item if you can’t afford it

Alternatively, if you’re struggling for money then you probably shouldn’t buy that “thing” until you can afford it.

5. Impress yourself first

6. You ARE beautiful on the inside and out.

7. Always buy the $5 grocery store flowers that you think are so pretty

8. Say yes to collaborations.

9. People are going to disappoint you, be patient

10. Stay home instead of partying

11. Make drinks at home

12. Stop waiting until the last minute

Occasionally I can be a huge procrastinator, but most of the time I’m pretty good about time management. This year not only did I procrastinate but so did others around me. I realized quickly how fast this bothered me so I began practicing better time management habits again.

13. Try not to overthink

14. Pay attention to what your body is asking for.

If your body wants you to sleep, then you should sleep. If your skin is breaking out then you should take better care of it. If your hair is breaking off then you should deep condition it more often.

15. Never forget to wash off your makeup.

16. Make lots of lists

You’re getting older and you’re taking on more projects now…this can cause chaos. Write everything down so you won’t forget.

17. Batch your work more often.

Draft out blog posts at the same time. Take pictures for your blog and/or Instagram at the same time as well. Film at least two videos at once.

18. Carry your business cards with you all the time.

19. Don’t be afraid to tell people you have a blog and want to be an influencer.

Sometimes I get nervous about telling people this is something that I want to do full-time. I shouldn’t have this fear anymore. Also, once I fully embrace my chosen path then things may start looking up.

20. Attend more day parties/events throughout the year.

21. Plan more travel trips even if you don’t go on them right away.

AKA creating a travel vision board of places I want to visit.

22. Plan trips a year in advance

The trip I’m going on next month has been planned out for over a year now and I am ACTUALLY going! There were definitely some roadblocks but it all worked out in the long run!

23. Get facials, massages, pedicures, manicures more often.

24. Embrace your comfort zone, but be able to step out of your comfort zone.

Most will say you need to step outside of your comfort zone in order to see growth. Personally, I disagree because I think your comfort zone is who and what you are as a person. However, I do believe that stepping out of it occassionally for some spontaneity and excitement is also good for you.

I hope this was an interesting post to read and I also hope that this may helped somebody out here even though these are things that I have learned and have told myself over the past year. I’m going to try and post again later this week, but if I don’t I will be posting next week for sure.

Thanks for reading,

ChelsiKay
