Holiday Gift Guide: Affordable Gifts Under $20

Hey there, as always, it’s been awhile. I never mean to go on these long hiatuses, but they’re often pretty necessary. I’ve been consistent in other areas of my life but definitely not this blog. Well, that’s going to change because my mindset has changed. I’ll get into that in a later post…maybe.

Anyway, I’m coming back with a gift guide! I haven’t done one of these in years and that’s partially because it would get repetitive and because the links I was working with weren’t that great. I also never want to get in the habit of linking products that I would never buy for myself or others or don’t already own, so I try to be mindful of what I share.

I have four gift guides coming out over the next week that include different price ranges. I do plan on doing a more categorized version of this (i.e. skincare, haircare, body care) but I want to get these out first. So, let’s get started! Today, I’m going over the 9 gifts that I would give or buy for myself that are affordable and won’t break the bank! *This post contains affiliate links from ShopMy*

Candle Set

Candles are by far the best gifts to give especially if you want to save some coin. Also, if you truly don’t know what to give a person, candles are usually a good item to start with. Even if the candle never gets used, they can make great decor accents. Go for a set that has different scents and add some charm to a room.

Monogrammed Mug

Mugs are so overdone, but they really do make a great gift! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like receiving a mug, especially if it’s customized or monogrammed with their initial. You can find mugs just about anywhere and they’re usually decently priced. Bonus points if you can find one that has a luxury feel to it.

Simple Cookbook

Scrolling thru different recipes can be a bit annoying especially if there’s a whole 3 page backstory. I vote we bring cookbooks back! But not with just any old recipes – ones that are easy to follow and don’t take all day to cook a meal. When I’m cooking, I definitely like to keep it as simple as possible. I’m a bowl girly. Rice, meat, and veggies, DONE! It doesn’t have to be complicated, which is why a simple and easy to follow cookbook can make a great gift for the holiday season.

Fuzzy Slippers

Personally, I have a bit of an obsession with fuzzy slippers and socks, but I need them. There’s nothing quite like sliding your feet into warm slippers on a cold morning. I’ve asked for slippers two years in a row and have been blessed with UGGS but I know that’s not in this price range. Luckily, slippers are affordable at almost any clothing store and there’s even UGG dupes!

Reusable Bag

Where I live, they finally started charging for bags both plastic AND paper. I know that’s also the case in most states at this point so it’s time to stock up on reusable bags! I’m not the biggest fan of the ones they sell in the grocery stores because they never hold up and they’re not that cute either. Sorry. A great gift is a cute reusable bag that can be worn like a purse too! Too many times I’ve gone into D.C. and purchased something only for them to look at me like I’m crazy when I want a bag for all the items I just bought. I know, I need to do better. Gift your bestie a reusable bag for her Trader Joe’s runs and she’ll thank you forever.

Throw Blankets

You’d be surprised at how many people would love a throw blanket as a gift. People often use throws to decorate parts of their homes even if it’s just wrapped up in a basket next to their couch. I love it. I’m pro-throw because I get cold and so do all of my friends. I’ll definitely be gifting one of my friends a cute throw blanket this year.

Water Bottle

It is so hard to find a good water bottle, in fact, I’m still on the hunt. I did find one that worked for me for about 3 months until the handle broke off. Gifting a water bottle might be one of the best gestures especially with how pricey they can be.

Makeup Brushes

A new set of makeup brushes is always welcome in my book. For anyone who wears makeup, new brushes are so precious. I find myself always wanting to buy new ones, but never actually do because of how expensive they can be and I’m a bit picky too. But as a gift?? YES PLEASE!

Tree Hut Scrub

It took me a LONG time to get on the Tree Hut Scrub Bandwagon, but I get it. How can something so affordable feel so luxurious? I already love body scrubs, but there’s something different about the Tree Hut ones and almost every scent is so yummy.

Gift giving does not have to break the bank and be a financial burden. Especially, if you’re giving out gifts to multiple people. You can show your love and appreciation for the people in your life without going into debt. These thoughtful, yet budget friendly gifts will be sure to put a smile on everyone’s face this season, I promise.

Thanks for reading,
