4 Ways to Refresh your Bedroom or Space

During the winter and spring, I really let go of my consistent cleaning routine as well as consistently posting on here. I can’t say that I’m officially back but I will try and be more consistent than before. Let’s just say, there was a lot going on and lots of family members in and out of the house. Now that it’s somewhat back to normal, I got a chance to finally refresh my space. Keep reading if you want to know how I go about deep cleaning and refreshing my bedroom.

First and foremost, I already live a fairly minimal life, I didn’t have much to get rid of. However, if culling is needed then do that first! Getting rid of what’s not needed helps so much when it comes to cleaning or organizing a room.

Dusting and vacuuming
Honestly, this one step will completely change a whole room. Carpets, walls, window sills, and baseboards hold so much dust for no reason. I vacuum pretty much every week but my window sills and baseboards were in shambles. So I got to dusting and also just did a deeper clean with Clorox wipes as well. Don’t forget to wipe the dust off your plants if you have any!

Organizing
I suck at organizing. There I said it. It doesn’t matter if I have a system or a routine, it will become disorganized at some point. I have what I like to call – organized chaos. For example, I have a Kallax that just holds yarn and some of my paints. There’s no system set up or anything…that’s just what holds my yarn. My vanity could look a whole lot better but it is what it is. My skincare shelf…well it is what is as well. The only tip I have for organizing is to do what works for you. Try getting rid of some things or just displaying them in a creative way. I personally have a lot of open shelving, so a lot of my organizing is really just getting rid of things or displaying it creatively as possible.

Rearrange your room
I recently swapped a Kallax for an actual entertainment center with my best friend and it makes my room look 10x better. The entertainment center has doors, so some of my clutter can live there. My art supplies were living in my wooden crates but I decided to move them to my bar cart and move my electronics (cameras, cords, mic) to the wooden crates. Definitely a good move in my opinion.

Switch up your decor
My decor isn’t going to switch up anytime soon because I love it so much. However, I need to start hanging up artwork. I’m a whole artist and not one of my creations or photos hangs anywhere. Maybe in the next week, I will be hanging up my digital downloads and art prints for a gallery wall. I’ll be sure to document that for another blog post.

Don’t forget to light a candle or spray some fragrance as the cherry on top. I love when my room is at its cleanest and doesn’t feel too cluttered. Remember your space doesn’t have to be museum spotless to be considered clean or organized. Just do what feels good for you. That’s it for today, until next time.
