My Thoughts on Meshki

A couple of weeks ago, I put in an order at Meshki to buy some more loungewear pieces because…lockdown still. Technically where I live, we’re in a partial reopening and it is still pretty limited as far as hours and occupancy. So, it just makes a little more sense to stay home the majority of the time. Even if I do decide to get out and wander the city, I will mostly wear my loungewear and just dress it up a little bit. Anyway, keep reading if you want to know some of my thoughts on the clothing brand Meshki.

While shopping at Meshki – an online retailer based in Australia, I already knew I wanted basic pieces that I could mix and match with each other as well as other garments I already own. I ended up purchasing two pairs of jogger shorts that are the perfect length. I ordered a mint green and a black pair that I can wear with just about any kind of top. And I also ordered a white racerback crop top that can be worn with any kind of bottoms.

Because Meshki is kind of a fast-fashion store, I didn’t really expect too much as far as quality. So when I opened up my package, I was thoroughly surprised at the thickness of the fabric as well as the stitching quality. The price wasn’t exactly on the super cheap side, so I am glad that the quality matched up with the price. Before purchasing, I did read that the sizing can be inconsistent between different garments. So if you tend to be in between sizes or just not too sure I would be a little bit more cautious when shopping at Meshki. The garments I purchased were a bit on the smaller side so I could have gone a size up if I wanted a slightly looser fit, but overall it fits pretty well.

If you’re on the fence about shopping more ethically and/or sustainably I think Meshki is a fair compromise. I’ve worn all these items a few times already and I still haven’t seen any thread fraying or strange discoloration anywhere. I think these garments will last a pretty long time even on a normal wash and drying cycle and even longer on a more delicate wash cycle. Of course, you can always buy secondhand but if that isn’t your vibe, I would definitely recommend this online store. While I probably won’t be shopping here again, I thought it would be a good idea to share some thoughts before I go full-on slow fashion. I can’t wait to share some of the sustainable/ethical stores I have patronized over the last few weeks with you all. I hope you enjoyed this post.
