2018 Brand Awards: Makeup Edition

As promised, I’m back with the 2018 Brand Awards. Go ahead and check out the skincare edition awards to see which brands won yesterday. Today, I’ll be awarding makeup brands in this blog post – keep reading if you’re interested.

2018’s Most Consistent Makeup Brand: NARS

fullsizeoutput_4beOkay, so this is just me fangirling over NARS’ whole brand in general considering I don’t purchase NARS that often. I noticed that the products are repetitive…meaning that whatever is working for them they continue to make improvements on. For instance, the Laguna bronzer is an OG NARS product that was only in powder form until just a couple of years ago. They now have a Laguna liquid bronzer that is just as good as the powder. I find this to be very ingenious because they could have just come out with a new product altogether, but instead, they just improved an already great product. NARS also did the same with the Orgasm blush and built the color into a whole collection! I mean, if it ain’t broke, make improvements right?

2018’s Go-To Makeup Brand: NYX

fullsizeoutput_4b8I pretty much purchased NYX all year long. Part of this was because of how cheap their products can be, but also because of how good the products actually are. I could probably get away with having a whole full face routine with just NYX but haven’t made it there yet. I will always buy the Soft Matte Lip Crème’s as well as the setting spray. I even have a small little highlighter palette that is amazing for the fall time. I think anyone can benefit from using any of NYX products – especially the lip ones! I have duplicates of the same lip-glosses and liquid lipsticks just because. If you’re just getting started with learning how to use makeup, I definitely recommend NYX.

2018’s Standout Makeup Brand: Glossier

fullsizeoutput_4b6In my last post, I talked about Glossier being an effective brand in the skincare department. Well, Glossier takes the cake for being a standout brand in the makeup department. Last year, when Wowder made its debut, I was overwhelmed by how well my makeup set. When Lash Slick came out earlier this year, that was it, I was hooked! I mean all you need is powder and mascara anyway, am I right? I think the only think Glossier needs to add to there makeup arsenal is an amazing eyeliner however I get that the brand is all about the minimal makeup look. Still…a Glossier eyeliner…

So, these were my favorite makeup brands from 2018! Most of these will most likely stay the same, but who knows…the next new product could become one of my faves. Check back tomorrow for the fashion edition of these brand awards.

ChelsiKay
